A major N4 upgrade involved DSP in a 1-year project. The project started in June 2020, when DSP remotely assisted PD Ports in rewriting all of their test use cases, to bring them up to date with the latest operational processes. This was successfully completed in September 2020.

In November 2020 DSP remotely assisted PD Ports with fine tuning the N4 environments for the version 3.8 configuration. DSP also supported the testing team with the full test cycles. This was completed in early January.

From January to July 2021, PD Ports completed their full internal testing and training with the new patches for 3.8, received from Navis.

On Saturday 17th July 2021, 2 DSP Senior Consultants, based in UK, joined the PD Ports team to provide 24/7 onsite support for 5 days. The go-live was a complete success with only a couple on minor Navis issues. During their time onsite they provided additional guidance to the best practices for operational processes using XPS and N4.

Teesport has seen £120m invested over the past seven years, bringing improvements in infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment to expand capacity. This has also been supported by the implementation of a new terminal operating system, increasing visibility across container, ro-ro and rail platform. With the support of this investment, Teesport has seen a 12% growth in year on year container volume over the last seven years, culminating in the handling of over 500,000 TEU in 2017 and a larger overall volume increase than any other UK port.
