Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR) celebrates its 20 years of business experience with motivating performance, and looks to the future with optimism and enthusiasm, confirming important investments in its structure. As the next step ahead, TCR started an innovative digital project, introducing NAVIS N4 as the terminal operating system (TOS), DSP DATAVIEW as its Business Intelligence System in order to increase efficiency and productivity and SEVEN by SIS as the customs management system.
The N4 implementation process will be managed, together with TCR Information Department, by the Swiss based Navis partner, DSP Data and System Planning, the first Navis partner worldwide since 2007, who will work directly with TCR. DSP will provide configuration, testing, field extensions, optimisation, and go live support services, including localised training courses so that their management teams are up and running on N4 as quickly as possible.
TCR will also implement the Navis Advanced applications Prime Route and Expert Decking, as well as General Cargo to support their CFS operations, specialised in container stuffing and stripping.
Terminal Container Ravenna facilities located in Italy in Ravenna are well suited for operations in the containerised cargo sector and integrated logistics. Due to its distinct geographic location, TCR represents a strategic gateway to manage the traffic flow to and from Central/Eastern and Central/Eastern European countries.
Operations are carried out over an area of about 250,000 square meters, one reserved quay which has a total length of over 670 meters and an alongside depth of about 11.5 meters. Vessels are operated by the latest generation of ship to shore cranes and by an efficient fleet of harbour mobile cranes and internal trucks. The latest dock crane, purchased in September, is being assembled and will be ready by the end of March.
The terminal has five rail tracks with a total length of 2,1 kilometer and it offers efficient connections with Marzaglia (Modena) and Segrate (Milan) areas, and thanks to the Melzo Hub connection can easily reach Central and North Europe. For example Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Benelux. TCR also provides reefer plug-in points capable of feeding more than 250 reefer containers and guarantees areas where dangerous containers can be stored.
