Senior Terminal Operation System (TOS) Consultant and Business Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are searching for a Senior Terminal Operations System Consultant and Business Analyst to add to our team of highly valued software, management, and supply chain professional consultants. This candidate will be joining a team that has a strong cohesion but who are also individuals that can work with great autonomy, utilizing their unique professional experiences to provide our customers with world class services.   

This position is open to remote work for all people who have a regular work permit in USA. However, the candidate should reside in the USA. 

We request that the candidate be open to frequent travel for customers in the Americas and occasionally worldwide. 

After a short onboarding period and under the guidance of a DSP senior project manager, the candidate should be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to provide the following services to DSP customers: 

Business Process Improvement and Mapping

  • Document processes and solutions by creating word docs, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts as deemed appropriate
  • Document system integrations and messaging/data exchange 
  • Improve operational efficiency by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes policies and procedures 

TOS design, configuration and optimization 

  • Define software solutions by studying operational needs, conferring with users, understanding systems flow, data usage, and work processes 
  • Determine operational feasibility by identifying problems, evaluating business needs/requirements, solution development, and presenting proposed solutions 
  • TOS and system configuration services 
  • Integration strategy and design for automation 
  • Quality assurance and integration testing management and services 
  • Provide TOS training services 
  • Serve as a mentor for junior consultants 

When the candidate shows the ability to independently consult with DSP customers to successfully build trusted relationships and meet their needs, the organizational skills to manage projects independently for the customer, the ability to mentor and organize teams, and manage budgets, then this role can lead into project a management position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION 

  • The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Transportation or a related field. 
  • Knowledge of IT architectures or supply chain management 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

Candidate must have at least 10 years of combined experience in the following areas: 

  • Logistics, maritime port operations, or shipping industry 
  • Configuration, training, and knowledge of TOS (Container Terminal Operating System) 
  • Container terminal operations and container handling equipment 
  • Experience with process automation and automated termianls 
  • Has experience in a customer facing role 
  • Documenting and mapping systems and processes 
  • International experience is preferred but not required 

SOFT SKILLS 

The candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, demonstrate diplomacy, interact, and communicate well with different international cultures, maintain a problem-solving attitude even under stressful situations, and be open to working in full autonomy, with commitment, passion, and flexibility. 

Other desired qualities include attention to detail, strong listening skills, strong oral and written skills, the ability to manage stress while maintaining a high level of professionalism, being respectful and mindful of others, a positive attitude, and at least occasionally a good sense of humour. 

ADVANTAGES 

  •  NAVIS N4 certification 
  • Project Management certification or prior experience managing projects 
  • The immediate need may involve travel in California, so proximity to that location is a plus 
  • Heavy experience with automated terminals 

LOCATION 

Candidate will be employed by DSP AMERICA and will work from his or her home residence. However, the candidate must be open to frequent travel, possibly worldwide, and have the flexibility to work on different time zones when needed.
